When purchasing Refund For Any Reason (RFAR) protection, reimbursements are subject to a strict case evaluation to determine which specific policy tier applies to your booking scenario.
Reimbursements are issued strictly as either a cash refund or a Busbud wallet credit depending on your ticket's operator rules. The compensation type is determined entirely by the applicable policy tier for your specific case; customers do not have an open selection between cash and credit.

Reimbursement Tiers
Depending on the specific operator rules attached to your booking, eligible RFAR cancellations will receive one of the following:
Busbud Wallet Credits: 100% of your ticket value back as Busbud credits for non-refundable & partially refundable fares. Credits are applied directly to your Busbud account and can be used toward future travel.
Cash Refunds: 100% of your ticket value back as a refund to your original payment method for fully refundable fares (terms & conditions subject to change).

⚖️ Full Terms & Conditions
Cancellation Process: If you have purchased the Busbud Refund For Any Reason (RFAR) add-on, you may cancel your trip by clicking the cancel button on your Trip page. No documentation or reason will be required in order to cancel. Your ticket’s refund status with the operator at the time of cancellation will determine if you receive a refund in cash or credits as outlined in the Reimbursement Tiers above.
Cancellation Deadline: Except as provided in Section 6 below, you must cancel your trip purchase at least 15 minutes prior to your first scheduled departure. After this deadline has passed, the RFAR add-on will expire and any changes or cancellations to your purchased trip will be subject strictly to the standard fare rules imposed by the operator.
Scope of Reimbursement: Upon a valid exercise of your RFAR add-on, Busbud will refund the total cost of your purchased Busbud trip as specified by the Plan tier you purchased. No additional expenses other than the cost of the trip purchased through Busbud will be reimbursed (including, for example, the RFAR add-on fee or any other booking add-ons).
Cash processing window: Eligible cash refunds will be processed back to the original payment method within up to sixty (60) business days.
Operator remedy rule: If any tickets subject to a Busbud RFAR booking are or become eligible for cancellation or refund directly from the operator (including in the form of bus company credit), you agree to accept that remedy from the operator as your exclusive remedy, in lieu of any Busbud-issued refund or credit.
Pricing Base: Your RFAR booking cost, and the amount of any reimbursement in the event you elect to cancel, will be based on the final price you paid at the time of the initial purchase. If your purchased Busbud trip has been modified at your request after booking, the RFAR protection will apply only to the original amount of the purchased trip.
All-or-Nothing Cancellation: Exercising your RFAR protection for any trip in the booking will result in the immediate cancellation of all purchased trips for all travelers for all legs or segments (i.e., both outbound and return trips).
Exclusions & Plan Expiration: The Busbud RFAR add-on does not apply and expires immediately following the earlier of:
a. A cancellation of any trip by an operator for any reason, including the result of a force majeure event;
b. A declaration of an “emergency” or similar “extraordinary measures” taken by any governmental authority in the destination city, region, or country of your Busbud trip, or issuance of a Safety and Security Alert by the United States Department of State or a Travel Health Notice Warning by the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC) for such destination; or
c. A designation by the World Health Organization (WHO) that the destination city, country, or region of your Busbud trip is at risk from COVID-19.
In the event of such operator cancellation, government declaration, emergency alert, notice, or designation, your RFAR policy shall expire immediately and any refund or remedy will be subject entirely to the standard fare rules imposed by the operator for your ticket.
Availability: The Busbud RFAR add-on may only be purchased at the time of booking and may not be added after the booking is completed. Busbud does not offer RFAR on every trip and reserves the right to deny the purchase of an RFAR add-on to any customer for any reason.
Non-Refundable Fee: The Busbud Refund For Any Reason (RFAR) booking fee is strictly non-refundable.
